Generating Social & Sustainable Impacts through Our Core Competencies
PECL has always been at the forefront of creating social value by delivering some of Taiwan's and the world's most essential power, industrial, and transportation infrastructure, enabling economies to grow and prosper. Our commitment to society goes far beyond our service lines, however.
In line with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) agreed upon by the United Nations, PECL has launched a number of programs that are allowing us to help eradicate poverty, take care of our shared environment, and raise the standards and expectations that we hold for our society and our communities.
Some highlights of our commitment to corporate social responsibility include:
Quality Education
PECL is committed to ensuring that all people have access to quality educational resources. We run numerous training programs that enable our employees to gain the necessary knowledge and skills to advance their careers and maintain PECL at the top of our business. Equally important, we are committed to provide our colleagues’ children opportunities to attend higher education. Through Bechtel, children may apply or and receive scholarships if they plan to attend qualifying higher educational institutions.
Through these efforts, PECL strives to be a better corporate citizen and create a fairer, more sustainable, and more just world. But we are only just getting started!
We are planning a PECL scholarship initiative to give even more students access to the highest and best educational resources.
As part of a company-wide effort, PECL is now organizing cleanups around Taiwan to cleanse and beautify the environment we live and work in.
We are also soon launching the PECL Foundation, a charitable wing of our company that will:
- Leverage the unique skills and passions of PECL employees to do good in society.
- Promote education at all levels, with focus on science, technology, engineering, and math.
- Use our engineering and construction skills to improve the quality of life in Taiwan and around the
world.
