PECL wins Detail Engineering for TPC Zenwu Cable Tunnel (161kV) Civil EPC Project in Zenwu Kaohsiung

Oliver Su, president, brought our PECL team to join the groundbreaking ceremony with prayer rituals held on February 11, 2025. In attendance were Taipower Kaoping Power Supply Area / Southern District Construction Department; and our EPC contractors RSEA and Kao Kun Construction.
Why it matters : TPC is building this line in cooperation with the Kaohsiung City Government’s response to the electricity demand of TSMC’s new TSMC Kaohsiung 5th Plant and TSMC Kaohsiung Materials Plant located in Nanzi District, Kaohsiung City.

⚡ Duration started August 19, 2024 with estimated completion of detailed design on August 2025; to be followed by construction support until August 2029.
🎯 The line starts from the Zenwu Ultra-High Voltage Substation in Zenwu District and runs along the Kaohsiung Water Pipeline Road through the northern foot of Banping Mountain to the end point of an abandoned oil tank area at the Nanzi Industrial Park.
🔮 Detail Engineering : full detail design for boring / jacking tunnel, vertical shaft, cable culvert, cooling facilities building, etc. including full BIM design and green building labeling.
The big picture : The entire line is constructed inside underground cable tunnels, with a total length of approximately 6,422m. It will also strengthen Kaohsiung City’s surrounding regional power grid to meet the growth of electricity demand in Nanzi, Zuoying , Dashe and Zenwu District.
