Prolonging the operating life of Taiwan's No. 2 NPP
The Kuosheng NPP in northern Taiwan faced early shutdown due to insufficient capacity in the spent fuel pool, which would have resulted in a power shortage in northern Taiwan. To enable the plant to continue operating, PECL provided services to modify Kuosheng's cask loading pools to install four racks from the mothballed Lungmen NPP. The additional racks expanded the spent fuel storage capacity, allowing the plant to operate until the end of its licensing period.
