PECL at 40

Date:2019-06-15

Pursuing Excellence since 1979

PECL hosted a "Birthday Bash" to commemorate our 40th Anniversary. PECL's founding partners -- Bechtel and Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) -- joined two of our most valued customers, Taiwan Power Company (TPC) and CPC Corporation (CPC) to mark the occasion. Representatives of the American Institute of Taiwan (AIT) kindly attended as well.

Among those who offered kind remarks were MOEA Deputy Minster Mei-Hua Wang, Bechtel's Ged Silva (General Manager, Infrastructure, Asia Pacific), TPC Vice President Wei-Tze Chen, CPC President Shun-Chin Lee, and AIT Commercial Deputy Chief Andrew Gately.

Over 135 customers and government stakeholders joined 150 PECL and Bechtel team members to celebrate the milestone. The celebration offered a perfect occasion to reflect on what PECL and Bechtel have achieved over the last 40 years in Taiwan.

PECL was founded by the MOEA in partnership with Bechtel to enhance the capabilities of the local Engineering & Construction industry through technology transfer. PECL's original purpose was to support TPC.

Since then PECL have diversified to work in all industries, a trend that mirrors the industrialization and modernization of Taiwan. Past projects include power plants, steel factories, petrochemical facilities, chips and microelectronics foundries, rail and transportation infrastructure, offshore wind facilities and high tech data centers.
