Taiwan – US Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) Industries Forum

Wayne Chin (PECL Chairman) attend this forum on behalf of Dr. Richard Freer, Bechtel Regional President - Asia Pacific, along with our Ms. Angelica Wang (PECL M&BD Mgr. of Offshore Wind). The Forum gathered many of the leading Taiwan-US companies to speak about CCUS strategies that could support Taiwan’s objective to achieve Net Zero Carbon Emissions by 2050. The organizer was the Taiwan Institute of Economic Research (TIER), which is an independent “Think Tank” that conducts research and analysis for governmental agencies and private businesses on macroeconomic and industrial development issues.
The Forum was opened by the Dr. Chang, TIER President, and included panel discussions on topics related to CCUS and the state of carbon neutrality globally and domestically. Angelica was one of the panel participants that discussed “Global Carbon Neutrality and CCUS Supply Chain” and provided an overview of Bechtel’s capabilities and a summary of our engagement in this area. The participants pledged to support Taiwan in its 2050 net-zero transformation and enhance international cooperation on this issue. Angelica helped bring diversity to the event as she was the only female presenter at the Forum.
