As we have for the last few years, PECL and Bechtel sponsored a table at the annual American Chamber of Commerce in Taiwan Hsieh Nien Fan banquet. The HNF banquet is a local custom and is a way to show appreciation to colleagues (including subcontractors and consultants) for their support during the previous year.

The AmCham HNF is a way for chamber members to express their appreciation to the Taiwan government for its help in supporting an open and transparent business environment. It is attended by the President of Taiwan, many of the cabinet ministers and the leaders of the Government sponsored companies. It is a great social opportunity to mix with Government and business leaders.

The keynote speaker was President Tsai Ing-wen. She was followed by an address from Mrs. Sandra Oudkirk, Director of the American Institute in Taiwan. We were lucky enough to have CPC Corporation Chairman Shun-Chin Lee and newly elected Taiwan Power Company President Yao-Ting Wang as guests at our table. The evening proved be a good mix of business and fun with two of our key customers in Taiwan.
