"The Past and Prospect of Railway Construction" Workshops

To promote cooperation and exchanges between industry and academia, PECL organized a series of workshops on the theme of "Railway Construction Past and Future Prospects". PECL is honored to invite Dr. Ching-Lung Liao, Dr. Hung-Jiun Liao and Mr. Wen-Chih Fang to give guidance on June 8, September 29, and November 10, this year, respectively.

Dr. Ching-Lung Liao is a professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at National Taiwan University. He was the chairman of the Chinese Engineering Consultants, Inc. Director, Bureau of High-Speed Rail, MOTC.

The topic of the speech is " The railway system and the urban development ". Dr. Liao discussed the importance of transportation construction from the perspective of urban and rural development, so that we can understand the transportation construction is no longer just as a Commuter facility but is closely integrated with people's lives. Finally, Dr. Liao also shared with us Taiwan's current rail transit policy.

Dr. Hung-Jiun Liao is a professor at the National Taiwan University of Science and Technolog,
The topic of the speech is " Slope land Hazard Prevention and the Safety of Railway ". Dr. Liao started with actual slope and track disaster cases and proposed specific and effective methods and actions for the design, construction, and actual maintenance and management of the slopes adjacent to the track.

Mr. Wen-Chih Fang , former deputy director, used to serve as deputy director of the Railway Reconstruction Engineering Bureau of the Ministry of Communications and deputy director of the National Highway New Construction Bureau.

The topic of the speech was "Bridge construction integrating environment, ecology, landscape and sustainability." Mr. Fang has rich on-site experience and has been engaged in the design of related bridge projects in Taiwan for a long time. Therefore, he is concerned with engineering and environmental protection, culture and art, landscape aesthetics, and recreation. , Urban landscape and other interface integration have their own unique insights.
