Celebrate women's achievement. Raise awareness against bias. Take action for equality.

Over 150 female PECL employees, around one third of PECL's entire workforce, participated in internal seminars on March 8 to celebrate International Women's Day. With the theme of "Choose to challenge" to "confront bias and inequality and push for a more inclusive environment at work and in our communities," as expressed on the official International Women's Day website, PECL invited three female senior executives to share their insights and offer advice to their women colleagues on how to achieve their goals. As PECL is a leader in women's empowerment and has the highest proportion of women professionals of any comparable engineering firm in Taiwan, the women completely filled four separate conference spaces and were joined together on MS Teams.

"It's really inspiring for us when considering how women are able to Choose-to-Challenge," said one women PECL professional following the seminar. Others expressed appreciation for the opportunities and gender equal working environment provided by PECL/Bechtel.

Additionally, in the runup to the event, PECL set up a "Post-it Wall" and encouraged staffs to post uplifting and thought provoking notes to commit to action by building a 'Gender Equality Awareness and Choose-to-Challenge' wall.
