PECL Beach Cleanup Nets Fun and Fulfillment

To cleanse and beautify the environment we live and work in
PECL demonstrated its commitment to Taiwan by mustering over 100 employees and their family members to head out to Fulong Beach on Taiwan's North Coast on Saturday, March 20, for a day of beach cleaning. The effort was enabled by Taiwan's successful containment of the Covid-19 pandemic, which allowed for large groups to gather outdoors, and was spurred by PECL's commitment to giving back to society.
"As part of a company-wide effort, PECL is now organizing cleanups around Taiwan to cleanse and beautify the environment we live and work in," the company states.
Fulong Beach lies along sea lanes and currents that often sweep in detritus, and the beach is often covered in litter, which creates a hazard to both the natural ecosystem and human health. Among the many bags of trash removed from the beach were plastic and rubber debris, which is known to degrade in seawater and infest the food chain, posing a risk to seafood.
It was more than just a good work but also a day of fun for staff and their employees.
