PECL wins Taipei Government Awards for Circular Line Work

Date:2018-03-15

"Distinguished Public Construction Award" and "Quality Public Construction Award"

The Taipei City Government has awarded PECL the Distinguished Public Construction Award for its work on a section ("CF660B") of the Taipei Metro Circular Line. The prestigious award was granted at an August 16th ceremony at the Taiwan CPC Corporation. Section CF660B also won the New Taipei City's Quality Public Construction Award.

Section CF660B is part of the first phase of Taipei MRT's Circular Line. This section includes three elevated stations and their connecting viaducts, covering over three kilometers.

Initiated in December 2012, CF660B has been repeatedly audited by both the Taipei City and New Taipei City governments. Every audit has resulted in first-class results. PECL's design sections won based on the following criteria:

  1. Economic considerations: proactive adjustments like green building, disaster prevention and others.

  2. Design Excellence: stations infused different symbols of architectural designs like "Take off (Y19), Happiness (Y18), Set Sail (Y17)". A bridge has been linked to the stations to show an image of a floating canal.

  3. Advanced Technology: Y19 incorporates Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIVP) photoelectric system. It combines modern science and technology with the concept of energy saving and environmental protection. Viaducts have been applied with precast U beams and cable that increase energy saving.

CF660B is a part of the construction lot of the Circular Line's Design Lot DF113. DF113 design is being performed PECL with its JV partner MAA.
